About Schema Markup

Schema.org structured data is a standardized vocabulary used to describe content on the web. When added to your pages as JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data), search engines can better understand your content and display enhanced results known as rich snippets.

What is JSON-LD?

JSON-LD is Google's recommended format for structured data. It's a <script> block placed in your page's <head> or <body> that describes your content in a machine-readable format without affecting the visible page.

Rich Result Types
  • Articles — Top stories carousel, AMP results
  • Products — Price, availability, star ratings
  • FAQ — Expandable Q&A directly in search
  • Events — Date, location, ticket info
  • Recipes — Cook time, calories, ratings
  • How-To — Step-by-step guides in search
Implementation Steps
  1. Select the schema type that matches your content
  2. Fill in the required and recommended fields
  3. Generate the JSON-LD code
  4. Copy and paste into your page's HTML
  5. Test with Google's Rich Results Test
Benefits
  • Higher CTR — Rich results attract more clicks
  • Better visibility — Stand out in search results
  • Voice search — Powers voice assistant answers
  • Knowledge panels — Appear in Google's knowledge graph
Tip: After adding structured data to your site, use the Analyze tab above to validate your markup, or test with Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema.org Validator.
